I bought a silver bead bracelet pre-loved from an authentic source but it was too big for my wrist. The previous owner had it made bigger to fit her. I am positive that the bracelet is authentic, so no worries there.

I took it in to Tiffany yesterday to have it made smaller. They quoted me $40 to do this repair. They also said they would clean and polish it, which I know is standard.

I haven't had repairs done in a while, but it did seem kind of high to charge $40 for a minor thing. I'm still going ahead with the repair because the bracelet falls off my wrist otherwise. What are your experiences?

I find them to be in line with my local jeweler. He is very experienced so I feel he is worth it.

If I had a Tiffany's in my state, I would not hesitate to have them work on their own pieces.

I think that's a bit on the high side, especially when you consider it's silver and not gold or platinum. I don't wear silver but my jeweler has charged around $20 for minor changes to my gold jewelry such as changing a charm on a bracelet or shortening a necklace.

I find to add length is expensive! I think its like 30 or 40 dollars. But then they have to ship them to the States from Oz.!!

it's around this price in Canada too, but my local goldsmith is comparable in price. I've gone to other locals places who charge less and i'm never happy with the result....
