What do you think of the Whimsical luxury products?

Hi there, as I was browsing on the internet, I notice that more and more luxury brands are coming out of products that seem to be more whimsical in nature. The classic one would be the Hermes Kelly Doll Bag. Moschino has been famous for coming up with those whimsical products too, and Louis Vuitton started jumping on the bandwagon with those products, especially the patches that you can put on the customizable bags. I am wondering what's your opinions on those products? On the one hand, I thought they are super cute, but on the other hand, they don't seem to fit with the classic luxury product category. What are your thoughts? Also if you own any of those products, please showcase them here. I still don't know how I feel about them.

I think they have their place. At their core, luxury bags are frivolous. Luxury items to me have never fallen into the category of classical; they are often opulent and impractical. There are many bags that offer durability, will last a lifetime, and cost substantially less.

Whimsical items cater to the individual. Everyone has their "thing" that can be perceived as whimsical or frivolous which may range from bags to some more narrow niche subset. If one truly loves it, why not? It's something that gives them joy.

Most of my bags would be considered whimsical, but they are quintessentially me. From my micro bags from too many designers to name to my Mulberry Margaret bag that features two bulldogs to my Coach Pac-Man wallet to my neon pink items, they all resonate with me.

I enjoy whimsy.
But not throwing truckloads o' cash at whim products.
Am pretty whimsical on my own.;)

Bag charms & guitar strap are fun, manageable whimmy-spends, imo.

Here is my coach rexy charm:

valentino embroidered guitar strap:

loewe elephant coin purse:

Also have burberry thomas bear charm.

Would not buy, say, loewe elephant mini bag. Or anything lv has covered in painted sticker/trompe-l'œil stuff.
Because they want major money for items which fade quickly. And have limited use for me.

Hope helps.

I love a bit of fun in my outfit. I tend to buy scarves with interesting designs, and have bag charms on top of bag charms, a collection that won't be complete until I purchase an Hermes Rodeo. My favorites are a purple Pusheen keychain and a Coach chocolate-covered strawberry charm.

I'm a sucker for things that have faces, so I have a couple of Fendi pieces with the monster face on. I only like it if it's subtle and a bit sinister, though - wouldn't buy the Moschino items with teddy bears on!
