I have mostly medium sized bags but subconsciously I carry much less than I used to. Many of these items are now in the car or when I switched to a small bag I just never put the unneeded items back in.

I can honestly say on a day to day basis I reach in for my phone, wallet, notebook and lip balm and that's it.

So I'm walking around with these big bags with nothing much in them because I still like the style and bag. Someone looked in my tote and laughed saying why such a big bag?

What do you all do with your bigger bags when the space isn't needed anymore?

If it doesn't suit your lifestyle, sell it and buy something that does. Personally I love being able to fit a jacket or overtop in my bag, so would be doing that if I found I had more room.

I sold all of my big bags after my children got older. I feel free. I only carry a tote for my work stuff along with my small handbag. I have a couple of canvas totes if I ever need something bigger, but I find that I only use them on overnight trips.

I still carry the bags because I like the style. I like a bigger bag and when I stop at a store and buy something small I can just throw it in my bag. Less to carry.

I'm with mkr. I wear the bag if I like the style. My speedy 25 B is pretty empty and it's not a big bag. I almost do exactly what mkr described for example picking up a magazine from the store or stuff my scarf/cardigan in it. [emoji56][emoji38]

I've downsized quite a bit as well but will always have the need for a larger bag at one point or another. Right now I just have 2-3 bags that I consider larger but love them for travel purposes.
Day to day I grab my smaller bags as I don't need to carry that much with me.

I've recently started carrying larger bags but still have the same items I had in small bags. Right now it's what I'm liking. My smalls are wrapped and stored because I know I'll go back to them. I have a couple of the purse shaper/organizer things and they help give a larger bag shape when mostly empty.
I have sold or given bags away in the past and there are a few I wish I could have back.

I definitely add more items when I have a larger bags.

My smallest bag is a small Fossil bag that barely fits my phone, wallet and keys - that's as minimal as I can go.

Otherwise I usually wear a cross-body bag on weekends if I'm just going to the movies or walking around the city, where I have my phone, wallet, keys, a bottle of water, sunglasses or an umbrella, and a bucket hat that I usually fold and only use if I'm walking outside in the sun (I look like a nerd using it but my skin doesn't handle sunlight well otherwise).

If I have a larger bag I'll usually add perfume, larger bottle of water, some makeup, really useless stuff that weighs down my bag but I somehow need to carry anyway!
