What designers shall I consider

Ok so after generous thoughts I am thinking about another handbag.

Here’s my requirements

Option of hands free
Not too heavy
Aged well / holds its value
Large or medium

Reason being I have small children and I want something easy to carry, I need to fit a few bits in it, I don’t usually look at my bags as investment pieces but I want to be able to sell it on pretty easy if it didn’t work for me.

I don’t live near any designer shops so trying these items is somewhat difficult.

I have Louis Vuitton bags and I am trying to steer away from them looking for something less on the radar but still fashionable.

I have Chanel - to be honest my budget isn’t going to fund another Chanel either.

Had a long love affair with Mulberry but nothing makes my heart sing anymore.

I like crossbody options and not offended by discrete totes, I don’t care for big boxy bags nor hobos or very slouchy bags.

Oh I have a budget of £500 - I’m going preloved.

So... what does that leave me with ? ?

My choice would be Longchamp, specifically anything in Le Foulonné leather. I used to be a Mulberry gal but as you said, there's nothing about M that makes the heart sing anymore. Longchamp has a bit of the same vibe, only LC still has its authentic feeling left.

Have you looked at Massaccesi? Coach/MK type price point, fairly customizable, made to order. I don't really know how they do on the resale market, but they're not that expensive to start with. There is a BST group for them on FB.

Jimmy Choo has excellent quality bags that plummet in value in the preloved market. Prada also plummets but the quality isn’t nearly as nice.

Balenciaga Velo or Town. Value will probably not hold but you're gonna get it preloved anyway so you won't be spending much.

I also love Givenchy Pandora but that tends to be priced higher even preloved.
