What Color is Your Wallet?

I've been researching wallets. A friend of mine, of Japanese descent, told me she grew up hearing not to buy a red wallet as red makes your money fly out of your wallet. Oddly enough, the same day she said this to me, another friend mentioned she has been spending a lot of money and can't seem to keep money in her wallet. I asked her what color was her NEW wallet (she had recently purchased it). It's red!

I decided to do some research. This article (http://wealthwallet.com/fengshuiwealthwallet) said that "Red is the color of the Feng Shui Fire element. Red activates and energizes the positive flow of money into a wallet."

However, this article (http://www.kenlauher.com/feng-shui-...e-Color-of-Your-Wallet-Says-About-Your-Wealth) said otherwise: "Consider a black wallet with red accents if you don't want to go all red as red can be associated with the fire element meaning that you may spend your money as soon as you put it in your wallet.:

Both articles said that black is the best color for a wallet:
"Black is traditionally considered to be the best color for a wallet."
"A black wallet is considered the best color for a wallet, as it will help you attract wealth."

The thing about a black wallet is that it tends to disappear in my bag. What color is your wallet? What do you think about these articles?

Wow never heard of this. Not sure about this but it is interesting:smile:

I've been reading so many articles on this topic. It's very interesting to me. The articles also say other things like not to carry too many credit cards as to some, this represents debt. But to others, credit cards signify wealth.

Most of the articles say it's important to like the look of your wallet, to keep it neat and organized and to always have extra space in your wallet for more money to come in

I'm now inclined to buy a black wallet since most of the articles said black is the best color for a wallet. Other great colors for a wallet are said to be gold and and green because it signifies growth.

I would only use a black wallet in bag with a coloured lining unless it had a decent side pocket. I can't stand rummaging.

I have a large red wallet. I also have a fabulous green wallet but I usually use a brown wallet. It doesn't matter what colour they are, money moves in and out fast

I didn't use red colour for my wallets before, so I don't know how true this is, but right now I am using a black Chloe Paraty continental wallet that I only just bought, and I chose it black only because it won't show dirt and stains!

Because I spent about $300 on that Chloe wallet, of course I love it and take care of it. I did leave some space for now because I don't want to overload it or it may get worn out or burst. Other colours I used before for wallets and purses are beige, pink, green, purple.

That's funny. I thought I heard that in Asian (Chinese?) culture red was good luck.
I have a red wallet. It's a Prada and the red is what I'd call ruby red. IMO it doesn't clash with any of my bags and I don't think it makes money fly out.
Black is nice too but one reason I wanted a color was to find it more easily in my purse.

Some of the feng shui articles said that red is the color of fire and a red wallet may make you burn through money faster. Others said that red is a sign of success. Most mentioned that everyone will have a different reaction to red. It scares some people.

I agree about having a colored wallet makes it easier to find in a bag.

well for what it's worth, I took my red wallet to a casino recently and won a bunch for money
But the time before, with the same red wallet, I lost
So I guess I'd have to say it doesn't matter and you should get the color you like.

I have 3 wallets - one is an LV Eugenie which is brown and gold (mono) with gold hardware (the closure is gold); a Prada saffiano wallet in bluette with gold hardware (logo is gold); and a slim RL wallet in brown and yellow/gold.

I hope none of those mean I'm in trouble :graucho: I find feng shui very interesting as well and I've read up on some of it, though I am not really that knowledgeable on the topic. I do know red is considered very lucky by the Chinese, so I was a bit surprised by the revelation that it wasn't a good color for wallets. I suppose it's good that I don't have a red wallet? :P

I do agree that having a different colored wallet helps you in finding it in your bag.
