What causes Le Pliage fabric to "bubble"?

I'm new to the world of Le Pliage bags. I like to look on the secondhand market to get a sense of maintenance issues (I also love some of the older styles). I notice that bubbling of the fabric is a consistent problem. It appears to be the result of damage to the adhesive between the layers. I was wondering if anyone has experience with what causes that so I can make sure to take good care of the ones I have.

Thanks!

It's a manufacturing flaw. There is nothing you can really do about it except to avoid the ones from 2006-2010 especially.

Absolutely avoid any original pliage that has the line underneath the jockey and horse on the flap but I believe that they removed that line by 2009 so it's not always going to help.

Thanks for the information. I hadn't been able to see a pattern, but that makes sense.
