Hello, I just purchased the Hamilton Traveler, but when I came home I noticed some stiching issues in the back. Would this be a reason to return/exchange it? Or would you look past it? What are the reasons you would return a bag for and what defects you can deal with?

I could deal with that, honestly it looks like a double stitch to tuck in the excess stitching. If a brand new bag was scratched or had loose ends on the stitching I would exchange, depending on how severe it was.

Thanks! This bag is overall pretty perfect, besides the stiching in the back. I figured it was the double stiching, since it is like that on both sides, however I just don't like how it is done. Lol, I want my bags to be perfect, can you tell? The sad part is that they are sold out at my local stores, so I can't exchange it. I got the last one, so didn't really have a choice. Does anyone have Hamilton Traveler? How is it wearing? Do you love it?

Looks like over run stitching to seal off any excess strings. That wouldn't bother me because it looks neat, not sloppy. For me to return a bag, I would look for scratches, spots, ect to the leather, sloppy, crooked stitching, scratches to hardware, or if the bag looks like it was used & then returned to the store. A new bag should look like a new bag.

I agree! I think sometimes some stores try to re-sell returned bags that have obvious defects. I agree with you - it should look like a new, unused bag with no scratches to leather or hardware. Are you willing to look past some imperfections/defects if you got the purse on sale? Or do your standards stay the same no matter what?

That would depend on the defect & the amount discounted. I take everything into account if the deal is a good one. But I won't buy a bag with major defects & flaws no matter how much they mark it down.:smile1:

Thank you ladies! :) Do you really feel like the quality differs a lot from brand to brand? Like for instance do you think LV is really that much better than MK quality wise?

For years, I was a die hard LV fan. I had a collection of about 12 LV's consisting of mono, epi & vernis bags. To answer your question, I think my MK's are just as nice in quality but at a lower price point. I also had Bal bags and they didn't impress me either....:smile1:

I still love my LV's (only own a few + SLGs), but I love my MK's more because I use them every day and can switch in and out the styles and colors with ease. They're great quality and my saffiano ones are care free. :smile1:

Frankly, it's a bit apples to oranges.. LV is way more costly than the MK contemporary line so i feel it's not an equal comparison. For the price point MK has nice leathers and functional well styled bags and i can tell you from what is out there at similar pricing the best for pockets!

Overall yes, quality differs from brand to brand and i'll even step that up a notch and say even within the same brand, some pieces just fall flat not every bag is a winner.

I agree 100%.
There are differences in quality within every brand. Whatever one buys, always inspect thoroughly your items and make sure you are satisfied with them. Something I might consider a flaw, someone else may not mind.
Merry Christmas ladies! 🎅🏻
