Hey guys! Thanks for voting. Here are some thoughts I have about the choices.

Dior bag: Am I only wanting this because these are in vogue right now - as in, I'm not sure if my desire for this bag will still be the case a few years from now. I don't mind dated-looking bags if I truly love it (such as celine luggage nano, it's past it's prime but I still love it) just not sure if I'd feel the same about this one in 5 years. Being canvas, is scratch resistant and Dior will apparently dry clean this if it got dirty. The weight- I'm not too picky about weight and have some heavy bags but this one is pushing the limit. Not a fan of how the attachment of the strap is not at the side but at the handle; for a 2 handle bag this may not be functional. The inside appears unfinished, like without a lining. The lid is weird but I did not feel it was too stiff to open upon handling one in real life.
Price: USD $5400

Delvaux bag: I love the idea of this particular design but the leather seems easily scratched and possibly water-phobic. The inner lining of tempetes seem to be very delicate when looking at them in real life. Just worried about it not aging well. But design wise, if it aged well I know I'd probably still love it in 5 years. Another thing I'm worried about is, Delvaux was known for quality but after Richemont took over (conglomerate like LVMH) I'm not sure if quality standards have declined. Capacity-wise, it seems like would fit less than the Dior.
Price: USD $6850

What was the option from H?

I'm a firm believer of buying what you really want so if these are just place holders for an H bag, get the H bag instead when you saved up enough. For bags at this price point, you seem to be listing quite a few cons so I'm not sure if you truly love the two options that you posted here. Both options are lovely for different reasons! As for the Delvaux, the interior lining ages like any other leather lined bag. It isn't particularly hardy nor is it particularly delicate, you can google used versions of the "Magritte" lined bags to see how they age over time.

Thanks for the help! I’m thinking of getting a vintage Hermes Kelly 32 in box leather which is about twice the price of these preloved, but there’s no rush for that as I don’t have much experience with preloved market and don’t want to fall for any replicas. Also I am in the Hermes game in store too, so saving would help with prespend etc for the next new birkin or Kelly but I’m not in a rush for that either and these 2 bags would bring joy currently.
Haha as for the cons I can pick apart any bag in my collection with numerous flaws, just an over thinker!

My response is biased because I own the Delvaux bag. To me you can’t compare the Lady Dior tapestry bag with the Delvaux. The Delvaux is in another league, an homage to one of the outstanding artists of the Surrealist movement. If you could call a handbag intellectual, this would be it. The design epitomizes a quote from Magritte: “Everything we see hides another thing, we always want to see what is hidden by what we see.” Every time I look inside and see those beautiful painted clouds against a blue sky, it makes me happy.
Good luck with your decision!

Is the Magritte bag a permanent collection? Timing is also an issue for these bags as I’m not sure when they might not be available new anymore. Whereas a vintage Kelly is always going to be vintage haha
