What bag next? Budget $2,000

Hi bag lovers,
I’m wanting to buy a new crossbody bag but can’t decide which one…. My budget is about $2,000 or just over. I know their are great bags at a lower price point. However, I’m wanting a designer bag that will hold its value ideally. Any suggestions, please let me know.

Here are some of my suggestions:

Probably won't hold value super well, but are great bags nonetheless
- YSL Loulou / puffer line (toy or small I think fits your budget)
- Gucci Marmont line
- Loewe Puzzle bag

Will hold value well for now, but possibly not always:
- Prada reedition
- LV multi-pochette
- LV pochette metis

Will hold value better long term
- LV speedy bandoliere for something very classic and versatile
- Gucci Dionysus line

@Kylie M , when you say you want a bag that will “hold its value”, do you mean one that you hope to sell in a few years for a the same price you bought it at, or do you mean one that will still be in style for several years?

I don’t think you can expect to recoup your money unless it’s an H or a C, or an LV that is very hard to come by like a nano Speedy. I think the suggestions from @glendaPLEASE were very smart.

I second (or third) the Hermes Evelyne TPM...if you can get your hands on one! This would be my top choice.

If that is too casual (or small) for you, as others have mentioned, Saint Laurent actually has several bags in your price range. They are a bit more of dress-up-or-down bags. The mini Lou or LouLou are both nice options. They have both been around for awhile, so you don't have to worry about them being trendy and "out" next season. I think the puffers are a bit more trendy, so only time will tell with those.

Gucci just (as in yesterday-is) raised their prices again. Bags like the Soho Disco and small Ophidia are both still under your range. I also think the Horsebit line is a classic for Gucci.

I second that. It’s a classic, will hold its value, comes in so many colors and leathers and is versatile to be worn as evening bag, crossbody or shoulder bag. Finally it’s right at your budget point

The evelyne tpm is also a great option but holds much less than the alma bb, and is too casual to be dressed up. So it depends what you’re looking for.
The YSL bags are very cute but don’t hold their value at all
