Hello all, I am a newbie to tPF and this is my first thread! Can I ask you ladies what bag you use when travelling? Do you ever take your MKs or other designer bags with you?

I'm curious because I used my MK monogram Hamilton when my DH and I went on vacation in June. It's the outlet version, so it was perfect--my wallet and other valuables secured in the center zip and the other two compartments handy for my book and other quick grabs while on the plane. The PVC made it pretty worry free.

However, as we were walking down the street, my DH suddenly grabbed my shoulders and moved me to his opposite side. At the corner, he stopped walking and said, "Let's cross." At that point, a young man walked by us and then bolted up a nearby staircase. My DH then told me he'd noticed the guy sitting on a bench and then start following us after we walked by. His instinct was that the kid was eyeing my handbag. We crossed the street and watched and, sure enough, the guy came right back down the steps and went back to his perch.

Since the MK brown monogram looks so much like the LV, especially at a distance, maybe that's what drew attention. But I did see so many women carrying LV's during this trip. So, I'm very undecided what to do next time we travel and I'd love to hear your opinions!

My jetset tote! Very roomy for traveling.

Right now I like to use my Milo tote because it's durable and roomy. I've learned my lesson to use older / durable bags when I travel that way I don't feel the pain as much when they get banged around.

The first time I used my Milo tote, I had just gotten it a few weeks prior to traveling and it so happened that the seat I was in didn't have a spot to stash my bag underneath so I had to put it in a bin...no biggie. The problem came when a very rude flight attendant grabbed my bag from me as I was looking for a bin and then proceeded to cram it into an already packed bin. On top of that she crammed my bag in upside down and being that my bag doesn't have a zipper just a magnetic snap I was paranoid that all my stuff was going to spill out so I got up to reposition it. Needless to say at this time I was super p*ssed. The flight attendant then came back up to me and rudely told me to leave it alone and I ended up telling her she was full of it. I normally try to be nice to people especially if I'm going to be stuck with them on a plane for hours on end, but I couldn't stand them anymore especially after hearing them bad mouth previous passengers out loud so that the entire rear of the plane could hear them. Very unprofessional!

I hope no one else has had to encounter something like this.

I always travel with both of my MK signature satchels! :) One is a mini, and the other is a large. They are both from years ago, with beautiful leather handles (I'm not a huge fan of the lighter leather that is used on the more recent styles). This photo was actually taken while traveling. I am a college student, and on my long 6 hour drives home, both of my MK "children" sit strapped into my passenger seat haha :smile1: http://instagram.com/p/Kdp0z9S0Rk/

*This is my first post where I include a photo, not sure I did it correctly, but here you go.
