What are your healthy cooking tips?

  1. I can think of a couple of things I do. When I use Ragu, I add a can of unsalted diced tomatoes so there is extra tomato in the sauce and put a bunch of chopped veggies in. When I have brown rice, I thaw a bag of frozen spinach and add it to the rice so I have spinach rice, instead of plain.

    Anyone else have any ideas? :smile:
     
  2. substituting apple sauce for oil in baking... and using egg whites instead of the whole egg (3 egg whites for 2 whole eggs I believe)
     
  3. my #1 healthy cooking tip would have to be to cook using olive oil always!
     
  4. Non-fat cooking spray, olive oil, using lots of fresh herbs, garlic, and vegetables...Those are some of my tips. And lots of cooking with fish and chicken!
