someone help me understand the usefulness of these items? is the key cles supposed to substitute for a keychain? and why a pochette? is that just a fancy cosmetics bag? i see women going nuts on the forums for these items (from all the designers) and i don't have any of these b/c i don't 'get' what they are for. i see some people with 4 or 5 of these pochettes in their single handbag?! what goes in them? and why not just carry a keychain?

I have a LV mini pochette, which holds my cosmetics, essentials (Advil, etc.) and my keys. I only carry a car key fob and a house key, so I don't need a separate key cles or key holder. Keeping my keys in the pochette prevents the keys from scratching the interior of my bags or any other items in my bag and a key cles (or key holder) would be useful for the same reason. I imagine those who carry a more than me would have more than one pochette, etc. I only carry a card holder, sunglasses, and the mini pochette with the aforementioned item inside. Makes changing bags out super easy, which I do frequently! If you don't change your bags out very often and aren't concerned with your keys scratching the interior of your bags or other contents, there is probably less of a benefit to a pochette or key cles/key holder aside from simply organization.

:smile1: thank you

I have the same, it keeps my loose items like lip gloss, headphones etc all things I'd keep in the pocket of a bag. Then when I switch bags I am not moving bits and pieces instead just larger items ie wallet, keys, coin purse, pochette, glasses and phone. I used to move all items individually from the pocket of one bag to another. Just makes it quicker and easier but definitely not a necessity!

Photo shows how my mulberry bayswater is organized.

I don't use key holders. They prevent using ringed keys as flail weapon.

I do consider pouches necessary, to keep leaking pens from damaging bag lining.
Also prevents same with cosmetics.

Usually fewer built-in bag compartments equals more pouches, for me.
Can add or subtract for space/needs.

Hope helps.

I couldn't live without pouches!

I have my keys in a key pouch, which also doubles as a wallet if I don't need my bag wit h me. The pouch, protects my other stuff inside my bag from getting scratched.
Right now I use a wallet, but if I need something really tiny I use a card holder and a coin pouch for cash.
Some bags don't fit an organizer so I put all my small stuff in a pouch to prevent the inside of my bag from turning into a chaos.
I also have a pouch that's specifically for work/travel emergencies - it contains ginger candy, bandaids and a lip balm.

Same here. Pouches of various sizes are much more useful for me as I can edit the contents of my bag easily even on the go. I can remove excess pouches and leave them in car while I shop after work. I have a few key cles that I use as well as I have different set of keys that needs to be organized. Office/work keys along with security card are in one cles, my parent's house keys in another, and house keys & car fobs in another.
Some of my pouches are designers but most are not. I just buy what is pretty and functional. And it helps that they are different colours so I know exactly what each contains. The inside of my bags do not match.
The typical key holders do not work for me as the car fob and auto starter are huge.

Pouches are absolutely essential for switching in and out of bags quickly. You can also keep more essential items in pouch A and less essential in B or C, and when you go to a smaller bag, you just keep A with you. Key holders can be useful for people worried keys will scratch their designer pouches. I go with cheaper pouches so I don't have this problem.

I use pouches, but they are of a cheaper brand (lesportsac and fossil). I never really used pouches much until recently because my everyday Coach tote does not have big enough pockets. Like others have said, they're really useful for organization. I've also found them especially useful when I was travelling and carrying around my travel tote bag (again, without pockets, argh). I have a couple LV pouches, one of which came with my purse...I just use them when I go out to dinner and don't want to carry a purse. But I'll be honest, my cheap pouches are much more useful than the LV ones, mainly because the cheaper ones have washable linings and I can store more stuff inside them.

As for key cles, I never really liked them and sold the two LV ones that I had. To me I just viewed them as expensive keychains. I like to use an actual wallet when holding my stuff or a nice pouch if I'm trying to hold receipts/coupons.

I have an LV key pouch. For me, it very useful. I mainly use it to store my credit cards. It great to carry around when I am at work. I can use it to store my work ID badge and some cards, when I don't want to bring a bag to work. :p

I think pouches are handy when it comes to switching bags. I understand some might prefer using bag organizers and just pull the bag organizer and place in different bags. But this might not be as handy when the size or shape of your bags aren't alike, and what's more is pouches are great to be carried by themselves as clutches which are my favorite..

Apart from this I group different items by pouches so it's easier for me to grab stuff from my bag :D

Key holder is also essential to me as I want to protect the other items in my bag from scratches.

I didn't organize my bags at all before. But a couple of weeks ago I bought some super cheap pouches from DKNY during the sales. It's saffiano leather so they hold up well. And I love them! Really makes switching bags easy and I can organize my things in a nice way. I have four pouches, a key holder and a bigger wallet. In one of the pouches a store my card holder (with the most important cards) and my phones (one private and one for work). Really convinient and I recommend it :)

Perfect explanation!
