WG Love question

I wear quite a bit of platinum and find that Cartier’s unplated WG is even more grey. It resembles stainless steel more than platinum, but it is not super noticeable and still goes together in my opinion.

WG Love is not like platinum at all. Platinum is more white and bright (depending on your alloy mix) whereas WG Love is more darker grey cast like Violet Bleu mentioned. I totally agree that it looks more like stainless steel than plat.

It won't ever have the milky patina of a platinum either, because with gold each scratch will wear away the metal making it look dull over time. With platinum, much of the metal is displaced when scratched giving it that fuzzy patina shine appearance. I believe some tpf'ers have gone to Cartier to ask them to plate (I'm assuming with rhodium or palladium) their WG but I've never done that so I can't speak as to how it affects the color and wear.

Personally I think WG Love is very masculine, and as a female with fair skin I don't prefer to wear the WG Love alone like I can with my other RG/YG pieces due to its darker grey cast. Still lovely for stacking though.
