I recently purchased my first Dooney Wexford leather handbag, the Tasha drawstring in blush (pink).
I haven't had a chance to use the bag yet, but I wanted to share my impressions of the Wexford leather....
it's beautiful. The leather is soft and thick, it is very smooth with no visible grain. According to the
Dooney website Wexford leather is waxed (as is Alto leather). But the leather is not treated or coated.
The Wexford leather looks like a cross between Alto and Florentine. It feels like a very thick glove leather.

All in all, the leather is beautiful and the color is lovely.
The Tasha drawstring is a large bag with a deep base.

I'm too chicken to try new leather this is good to know.

Based on the presentations of handbags on QVC, I had decided that the Wexford leather wasn't for me. I thought it was a thinner and coated leather.
But then I decided to do some research on the main Dooney site to better
understand the leather. To my surprise, I learned it was Not a coated leather. And that
it's full grain leather and thicker than Florentine leather.

Along came a sale and coupon on ILD/Ebay and there was a style I liked (the Tasha D/S),
in a color I liked (Blush), at a price too good to pass up.

As you have probably figured out by now, I'm a bit of a leather nerd. I need facts,
not marketing descriptions, to convince me to try something new.... something that I clearly don't need. Of course, the price and all the hype about light pink bags this season
wore away my self control once I'd determined that I would like the Wexford.

And now, I can add Wexford leather to the collections of Dooney handbags I look at.
As I recall, there seemed to be some really nice colors in Wexford hanbags when they
were first presented on QVC. That gives me hope that I'll stumble across some treasures
on ILD in the future. I have a weakness for beautiful color handbags.

Really beautiful LJ the pink is so pretty. How heavy is it compared to Florentine?..

The Wexford feels lighter than the Florentine, of course that will depend on the
bag and the amount of leather and trim. The specs on the Dooney site for the same
bag (Tasha Drawstring) say the Wexford leather is 2 mm+ thick and the Florentine
is 1.6mm+ thick. That would seem to indicate that the Wexford bag would be heavier.
But it didn't seem so to me. So, I guess, I'd have to say.... about the same?
I think a lot will depend upon what you put into the bag. I've noticed that even smaller
bags appear heavier when all my junk is concentrated in a tiny bag. Put the same things
in a larger bag, and the weight is distributed differently.... except when that larger bag
is a large Flo satchel or a Clayton. The sheer size of those Florentine beauties just makes
them too heavy for me to carry these days. But, I have shoulder
issues.
