I have a large Hamilton (luggage w/ gold hardware).

Whenever I take it out with me shopping, it makes all of the security alarms beep when I walk into or out of a store.

I'm just curious if anyone else has had this issue or if anyone knows if there are any hidden security tags in the bag?

It's pretty embarrassing and I don't want to feel that way carrying a bag I love so much!

Did you buy a new wallet recently that the tag could be in? Do you know what to look for - it's a very tiny little tag that's kind of plasticky and rectangular - really small!! They can be idden in credit card slots of wallets and deep in bags. Double chek everything in your purse - I bet you'll find one.

My cousin had the same problem a few years ago. She visited us in NY from Fla. and kept setting off ALL the detectors when we went into and out of stores. Turns out she had gotten a Coach wallet a few months prior, and deep in one of it's sections there was one of those long, thin plastic rectangle thingies that are for security which set off the alarms. She had no idea it was in there but let me prowl through her wallet and I found it after much inspection. Boy was she relieved to know what was setting off all the alarms! She thought it was her cell phone...

I am thinking it may be one of those soft tag security scensors that others have mentioned here. I once had one in the interior pocket of a Coach bag, and it would go off all the time at various stores. I happened to be in a Coach store and it went off. I basically dumped my entire bag right then and there just so they did not think I stole something! Sure enough, there it was, a little security tag hidden deep in my purse!

It sounds like you have a hidden tag for sure! Check any new accessories that you may have bought. If your bag hasn't been setting off alarms the entire time you've had it, then I would guess that the hidden tag is in something else. I don't have any problem with my Hammies either...so it's not the metal or anything.

CHECK ALLL THE POCKETS! INSIDE OUT, THE SENSOR IS TRANSPARENT LOOKING, LIKE A TABLET, SOMETIMES THEY LEAVE IT IN, IF NOT GO TO A michael kors RETAIL OR OUTLET they will for sure help you! Good luck!!!!!

Thanks for all of your help!

Turns out there was a security tag hidden in my Coach wallet I bought shortly after my Hamilton!!! It was hidden inside one of the credit card slots so I had never found it before! I had only been checking the larger pockets.

lol! same thing happened to me before. had a coach wallet n had no idea there was a security tag inside one of the card slots. i was setting store alarms off n had no idea why :laugh:
