Weird Coach creed

i was at Citadel buying way to many bags, I had asked if they had any saddle bags. I was told no. So we paid for our items and on the way out I saw them. Well upon inspection I saw one with an upside down creed, no writing and a 4 digit number.
We finally got the manager involved he couldn’t figure it out and said he would offer an additional discount if I wanted it.
This bag was black & Bordeaux. The SA came down with 6 different color saddle bags and another one of these weird creed ones, except on this bag the creed tag was just laying in the bag it wasn’t attached. Then he realized what they were, he said a couple of years ago they were offering customization on creed tags, you could write what ever you wanted.
I ended up not buying it but took a photo for everyone to see.

Were these for only saddle bags? No other styles?

That's strange. But good to know, thanks for the info and photo!

I've never really looked at the newer version of that style, are the details the same as the old Classic Pouch / Classic Shoulder Bag?

SEWDimples, do you remember roughly when you made that post? I searched your username using "saddle creed" search terms but couldn't find anything with photos. Searching just "saddle" shows links to just over 300 posts. I'm not sure my eyes can take it. :whut:

Hi Hyacinth. I tried to look for it. I had a conversation with another tPFer and we were comparing the style #s. I could not find it, so I will take new pictures tomorrow and load for you. It is late and I'm too sleepy to dig out the bag right now.

It was exactly like 55036, my daughter googled it, I will see if she still has the style number.

I remember these! They did this as a promotion when they first reintroduced the saddle bag several years ago, and these were offered for Mother's Day, where you could write your own creed. These must have been the ones that never sold.

Thanks for all the info!

I hope that none of the original owners have tried to sell them only to have them reported as fakes. Anyone who bought one, keep whatever papers or receipts you got from Coach showing the modifications.

Wonder why some creeds ended up upside down?
