Wedding Talk Pt. 2

Pretty... love the belt! ^^

Getting into the last few months (dec wedding here). What do you all have left to do? We have all the major stuff. We're working on details now. Menu and escort cards, cake stand, finalizing the menu, programs, gifts for wedding party, etc.

My moh is awesome and we have a checklist of what needs to be done each month and we're taking it day by day. We scheduled our table preview with the event planner for end of next month. So excited to see our decor!

Just bumping the thread to tell you all that you were right- I went out a couple weeks ago and bought a new dress with my mom and sisters. And even though I was super apprehensive that I would spend a bunch of money and still feel ambivalent about the whole thing, it has been a totally different experience! In the general course of wedding planning you run across a lot of dresses, but since I bought mine I just keep thinking "Nope, I like mine better!" It is such a relief! The day was so much fun, too- my mom and sisters got to help me pick a few to try (though I pretty much knew which one I wanted, I picked the shop because they had the dress), and afterward we celebrated with frozen yogurt.

ChanelGirlE you are so organised!

My wedding is only 5 weeks (and 6 for the second one overseas) away and I have just started doing the things you mentioned above. I am really excited but getting more nervous at the same time. DF and I had our wedding pre-shoot yesterday and menu tasting last week. Our florist told us that our table mock-up is scheduled for the week before the wedding because I want lots of pink/white peonies and in Australia they usually are just starting to come in around the time of my wedding. She said she will try her best but I am preparing for the worst that there might just be enough peonies for my bouquet :-s.

Most of our guests have returned their RSVP cards, only a few more that we are still waiting on. Some of DF's friends have decided to invite their girlfriends along even though we clearly only printed only their names on the invitation . Has this happened to any of you?

The biggest headache that I have had to deal with so far all have to do with my bridesmaid. First, my MOH was really mean when she told me that she didn't like her dress (photo attached). I think it looks great on all of my bridesmaids because they are around the same size and height. Although my MOH does have bigger bust than the other girls. Then a couple of weeks ago, one bridesmaid told me that she will not be able to attend the wedding because she got a job offer overseas :panic:. To add on top of that, after several failed attempts, I finally managed to arrange a time with my bridesmaid for their dress alteration last week, only to find out that they haven't even decided/bought the shoes they are going to wear. The alteration lady made a big deal about how they need to have the shoes before the dress can be shorten..etc..So we had to reschedule.

I'm sorry for the long depressing post. Now :back2topic:. Where are you all going for your honeymoon?

@Pixie... I need to be organized! It's the only way I stay sane. On top of wedding planning, I'm in grad school and work full time. ! I'd be freaking out 5 weeks too. OMG. So close!!!!

I love peonies btw. My bouquet will be peonies but we couldn't do more florals in those because they are off season for Chicago and will be shipping just my bouquet in.

As for additional guests... my MOH recommended we put the allotted seats on the invite to eliminate this. So we put we have reserved ____ seats in your honor. NO CONFUSION! lol

I like your bridesmaid dresses but you really can't please everyone. I had an issue with one of my bridesmaids too she didn't like the gown and we had to choose a different style all together bc of her. I had my MOH in a different gown (same designer and color) then the 4 other bridesmaids in the same. Now bc of this picky bridesmaid they're 2 and 2 then MOH different. wahhh!

We're honeymooning in Paris  so excited. What about everyone else?

Today we sent out our bridal party info (we have a card with all info on it for those in our wedding). Set events rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, where to stay, what time to be there, wedding time, brunch the next day, what to wear etc. I have one of my showers this weekend the other in November.

How is everyone's planning going? Working on details now, we have less than a month. !!!
How exciting!! The last couple of weeks before the wedding is the most exciting and also most stressful period of the whole planning process I think. I sort of freaked out as the day got closer because my to do list was so long and I didn't want to forget anything. Fortunately I had a planner who kept me sane. I became a Mrs on November 2nd and it was perfect. No rain (it rained the whole week up until the day before), everything went smoothly and my florist created an amazing enchanted garden for our reception just like I envisioned. We are currently overseas for our second wedding reception so no professional pics yet but I will def share some when I have them.

ChanelGirlE Hope everything goes smoothly for you and have an amazing wedding!! Xx

Ahhh thank you so much and congrats!!!! Your enchanted garden sounds AMAZING. You must post pictures when you get back!

My list seems to get longer and longer. I have an amazing MOH and we update the list weekly (now daily) and have a time line for what needs to be done when. We're doing a few DIY things but also do have an event planner. I'll be off work next week up until after the weddings so I'll have more time for all the details and final meetings.

I'm recently engaged so I haven't done anything yet but note ideas however I know for sure we're not having a large wedding. No bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girl, bestman, MOH. The wedding party will consist of my fiancé & I only, I don't want the headache of dealing with all the other stuff and it's going to be a destination wedding so the guest list will be extremely small. Although haven't decided on the destination yet but somewhere with water for sure.

So far I've picked Midnight Sky for the theme and I already know the gown I want, Vera Wang and it's going to be red. However I'll still try on dresses just to go through the experience and I'm going to fly to NY to go to Kleinfields and Bridal Reflections, then I'll end at the Vera Wang boutique. I'll also do cake tasting with Sylvia Weinstock and I've already chose a wedding planner.
