Hello everyone!

I had to postpone my wedding to this year, and may have to delay once more. While I wait to see what this year has in store, I’ve been having fun researching wedding shoes. For those of you who have gotten married, what shoe did you wear? And for those of you who have yet to, what shoes do you dream of wearing for your wedding or other special occasion in your life?

I am wearing a Berta wedding gown that is heavily beaded (thus very heavy!) and trying to find a lovely shoe that doesn’t compete and is very comfy. I don’t feel great in heels due to some previous injuries, but am hoping to find a nice mid/low block heel that’s fun. Have had my eye on some Amina Muaddi heels, but tbd.

can’t wait to see your eye candy:P

Mine is my avatar, from rene caovilla. Hope you find your dream shoes that are comfy and memorable. Best of luck in your wedding planning, and ofc the wedding.

I wore a pair of CL Rampoldi that I had customized with Swarovski aurum crystals. My dress was Pnina Tornai. It had a cathedral train with lots of beading as well so pretty heavy. I don't think my shoes competed with my dress at all. You could also keep a pair of comfy shoes on hand. I only wore my Louboutins during the morning and for the photoshoot...and changed into Gucci flats for the reception. These were my shoes..

I'm getting married later this year, and I have two options for the summer wedding.

The first are fully strassed blue to gold CL Kates. They are 100mm, so a bit high for a full day on my feet. I may just end up wearing them for the rehearsal dinner, or just for the ceremony.

I also got a pair of Amina Muaddi begums in purple (a favorite color of mine!) that I will likely wear the rest/whole day. They are a bit lower and the wider heel will be much more convenient for walking around and prolonged standing. I've been wearing them around the house and they are quite comfortable, though I recommend sizing down if you go for a slingback.

I checked out Jimmy Choo's bridal collection and they have so many stunning, and even custom, options. I opted for the CL's because I've been wearing CL's for years and the AM's because the purple was so eye catching and the brand is fun and trendy right now.

Let us know what you are looking at and pick!

My sister got married a couple of weeks ago. I don't have a pic of her in her dress w her shoes but she picked up a pair of Spikaqueen Crystal Ankle Strap 100mm CL's from Nordstrom about 10 months ago. Below are pics of her wearing them at the rehearsal genius of the planner to make us bring our shoes to practice in. I brought a pair of Gucci Draconia in silver - another suggestion they have a high heel but are surprisingly comfortable - but decided to wear my Burlinette's you see in my profile photo. I really haven't been wearing heels and it was good to stretch my arches the day before). I tell her these shoes look like salted caramel candy on her feet. We did have to get a sharp knife out to poke a hole closer in on the strap. tempImage7exOQZ.png3B58EE97-A04C-4F89-AA0F-D38982E98C84.jpeg2C3AD858-436F-48C8-8269-D05B87EF5E57.jpeg
She will be wearing them other places beyond the wedding venue.

Congratulations and Berta dresses are gorgeous! So excited for you to have your big day!

My dress was also heavily beaded and sparkly, so I needed something with a bit of sparkle but understated and went with these size 6 Badgley Mischka pumps. The shoes flashed a little bling but were mostly unadorned. They were open toe because it was a February Florida garden wedding, but I got to flash my lavender pedi. The criss-crossing straps made the shoes feel super-stable so I didn't have to think about accidentally losing them at any point. I added foot petals inside the shoes and wore these bad boys into the wee hours and my feet were fine.

I was married in 1991 in a pair of Emma Hope pumps with Louis heels from a store on Newbury Street Boston called Alan Bilzarian. They were pointy and the fabric wrapped around the foot. Hope everyone who is getting married this year has a wonderful time planning their attire!

These were mine last June! LOVED them but will never buy from Jimmy Choo again, ruined my experience. They sent dirty shoes and took over a week to ship a new pair, they got to the resort the day after we left and never made it right. I wore dirty shoes at my wedding

@Swanky But they're SO gorgeous! Omigosh totally living for the drama of that bow. I'm so sorry the shoes didn't meet your expectations. Crazy no matter how much you plan for the big day something always doesn't go as planned. My hair stylist burned my jaw with a curling iron and GUUURL I was LIVID inside. We were able to ice it and I kept quiet because he apologized profusely but c'mon. Yet, that day was still so damn magical.

I wore these Jimmy Choos. They were not comfortable and you couldn’t really see them under my dress. I took them off after photos.

YES queen, these are lovely! But you know what, thank you for your truth. Most brides only wear these heels temporarily and switch them out after the photos. I'm wondering if there's wedding shoe rentals offered by wedding planners and/or photogs because really that's all someone needs—shoes for the ceremony and photos and that's it. My Badgley Mischkas are still sitting in a box in the back of my closet, I don't really have fancy events that will merit this kind of shoe, and I'm childfree so no passing these heels down. Besides, every bride has her vision so daughters/nieces will likely want their own shoes anyway. It's an emotional conundrum.

Wedding shoe rentals are not a bad idea lol! But I think it’s like the dress, you know you’ll never wear it again but everyone still wants the experience of buying their very own.
