My wedding is in August. Because of the system in Germany my groom is already my husband (everyone has to get married at city hall and most have a proper wedding afterwards with an independent ceremony. Ours was done pre covid).
Anyway... I have fallen in love with the CL Hot Chick in nude - my dress is floor length and very bride-ey and the shoes would just be a perfect way to give a flash of red bottoms under the tulle without risking ripping the layers.
I think the nude CL are a great way to ensure that I'll wear them after the wedding as well. I've always wanted Louboutins and told myself before that if I ever took that plunge and spent that much on shoes it'd be for my wedding because no other event would seem important enough.
I have a nice little bag collection but when it comes to shoes my husband sais he thinks 600€ on shoes is madness.
I made the mistake of trying the CLs on and now I feel like I test drove the Lamborghini before trying to find its match in a Fiat
Does any of you have a suggestion of a shoe or brand that might satisfy the budget of 2-300 euros and still bring that thrill of opening the shoe box on my wedding day?
I've considered pre-loved but am just very scared of getting a fake.

First of all, congratulations on your upcoming wedding! May you have a wonderful day! :flowers:

Personally I would never buy pre-loved shoes. I think it's a personal thing for me though. Doesn't feel the most hygienic unless they were basically bought and un-worn.

Also CL are known to be pretty uncomfortable. They definitely take some time to get used to but if you're a creature of comfort you may find yourself not reaching for them as much as you'd like, even if they are nude and easy to wear with other outfits/clothes.

A few questions:
1) Since you're dress is floor length, of course, the shoe height can't be too low or too high. What is the height of the heel you are looking for?
2) What color or tone of nude are you looking for? A true neutral? More yellow-tone? More pink-tone?
3) What material of heel are you looking for? Suede? Patent? Standard calf-skin?

I would try once more and try to explain to your husband just how much the CL shoes mean to you. Even though you are officially married re paper, you are still planning for your big day. Perhaps find another way of economising to and show him that you will be able to even out things. That any other shoes are not so wearable after and beyond and that you were soooo looking forward to feeling 'complete' on the day.

I forgot to mention that I am very comfortable in heels. I don't like the appearance of how the foot arches in lower heels so I'm settled on an 8-10 cm heel. I used to be in heels every day until I became a mom and my world started revolving around the playground.
I'm quite pale skinned and I don't tan so I'm looking for a light neutral.
Patent leather preferred.

Attached are a picture the SA at Louboutin took as well as 3 Badgley Mischka shoes I found. I however see the Mischkas as 'I think they're gorgeous but it never wear again' 20220328_124258.jpgScreenshot_20220329-224216_Amazon Shopping.jpgScreenshot_20220329-224106_Amazon Shopping.jpgScreenshot_20220329-224002_Amazon Shopping.jpg

Congratulations on getting married! I actually bought CLs for my wedding - I have the simples in nude and I didn't have any issues on my wedding day. My now husband gave me a hard time for spending so much on shoes but the funny thing is I still wear them for other occasions.

Why not compromise on something else cost-wise for the wedding? I hope you come to an agreement with your husband on the shoes!

Perhaps you could keep your eye on the secondary retailers (Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Saks Off Fifth, Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack, and their German equivalents) between now and July for sales. I'm blissfully ignorant on the modern sale cycles, but I'm sure there will be at least one, for at least one of these retailers, between now and then. You could also familiarize yourself with the tertiary discount retailers (whatever the German equivalent of T.J. Maxx is). Not all styles will go on sale, of course, but I imagine at least one nude Louboutin would appear.

Congratulations on your wedding!

Thank you:smile: I'm looking at discount retailers (TK maxx is the German equivalent) and sometimes you find great stuff. I've been hoping for a long time to get lucky but starting to worry that I won't.... I need the shoes in 6weeks for my fitting so I realize now I have to find some soon.

I would start early with the idea of a “me fund” that is money that you can use however you darn well please. You have to base the amount on what your family unit can afford but not every purchase should be a joint decision. Your life will be happier.

Then, if these are the shoes you have your heart set on, they come from the “me fund” and how ever many months worth that will mean.

I'll try to talk to him. Perhaps he might come around. I do feel a bit bad for wanting those shoes though. We have a mortgage and two small kids, so while we are definitely doing well financially I also have in the back of my mind that these shoes are very expensive. I feel like any cuts I make to the budget are cuts I should be making anyway.
I'll think about it and ideally stumble across some shoes that are discounted that gives me the same excitement.

I think they should be your own wedding gift to yourself, they are pricey but they are an investment as well. If I could afford shop new loubies, at least for my wedding I would totally do it.
It's your wedding, you deserve to feel perfect and if wearing loubies for your wedding means something to you, then go for it!
Otherwise, the shoes you posted as a replacement look quite re-usable except for the 3rd pair.

We could suggest you many pairs and brands of shoes, but it seems like you feel that these nude hot chicks are YOUR bridal shoes...fingers crossed :)

If you would wear the CLs forever and with many outfits, they will be worth it compared to the BMs - $300 is not a small amount either.

I was just having a similar conversation with my husband yesterday-the sparkly (cocktail ring, in my instance) has limited utility-maybe I would wear it 6 times a year-but the stacking ring (25% more in cost) I would wear every day. In my middle age, and during pandemic closet assessment, I have realized I should apply this thinking to all of my purchases, so that I do not continue to have a closet full of items I never reach for, but instead wear the same few things over and over.

However in general, I think all prices are incredibly high these days! It does make me think twice (or three or four or five times) about purchases, which is good.
