Hi everyone! I have enjoyed looking at everyone's jewelry and now have a question of my own.

I am getting married in October. I already have my E-ring and band. I just don't really like the traditional way the E-ring and band look together...I want a different/more unique look so I came across this and wanted to see what others thought about it.

I want my E-ring and matching band to be molded together to become 1 ring.

The ring attached is just a stock photo shown with a round brilliant (see attached 3rd pic). My center stone is a 1.5 square radiant (see attached 2nd pic). My matching band looks exactly like my E-ring setting...just a band with diamonds (see attached 1st pic).

I want to get these two rings molded together to look like the 3rd photo. What do you think of this? Is this not a good idea or would I be better off just keeping the original E-ring setting and matching band separate?

Thank you for your feedback :)

I think the 3rd is very pretty. Some ladies don't wear their engagement rings all the time and just wear their bands to indicate they are married. If you think you will always wear your ring then it isn't an issue.

good point. my jeweler told me that it would be best to have the e-ring and band sawdered together to prevent scratching/rubbing. i didn't think that i would be wearing my band alone ever, but i guess i could.

i figured since i was going to have to get the two attached either way, then this would be a really neat way of doing so.

maybe i should keep them as two separate rings then? i never take my e-ring off tho...

I like the split shank in that third picture, but have you talked to your jeweler about this project? It doesn't sound like a simple process and I'd imagine that your ring would need to be entirely recast. Also, I wouldn't solder the two together. Scratching does happen but there are certainly times I like to leave the house with the band only.

I think your idea is a beautiful idea! The third picture will look wonderful with your setting. Just make 100% sure you will never want to wear the rings separately. For example, I want to meld my stackable gemstone rings together, but I am sure I will want to wear them separately one day, because I can be commitment-phobic. Let us know how it comes out! xo

I just got in engaged last Nov. and the third pic was what i was presented with. It's a very classy look. I thought it was a great idea.

Neat look, but I think you'd have to get an entirely new ring cast. If you can use the diamonds from both rings (if they're the same size), then great! A new wax mold will be about $100.

Do you have a band to wear alone when you don't want to wear your engagement ring?

I agree w/ others. . .
that 3rd pic is not simply 2 rings soldered, it's made to look that way, but it's not. Logistically it wouldn't work , it would stack pretty think on top of your finger if you think about it. So you'd need a whole new setting.
It's pretty if you don't mind a new setting.

The third ring is very pretty however it does not appear to be a simple job as the others have stated. Have you given to thought about wanting to wear your E-ring all the time?

you are right-it does not appear to be a simple job. i might just have a setting done and take the diamonds from my current ring onto the new setting.

i wear my e-ring all the time...but not sure if that will change later...

The setting that you have selected is very similar to my E-ring, take a look at what I did to mine. I think that it is a great look

Hi Vanbruntsa,

Your E-ring is gorgeous, I really like the center stone. It's very clean. I have to add that with my E-ring, I wear it solo most of the time unless I am trying to make a statement, because my fingers are short and the band and E-ring together looks a little crowded. But it is still beautiful nonetheless.
