My brother has just bought a ring to propose to his girlfriend and it got me thinking about my wedding day and the jewellery I wore and I wondered what everyone else wore and the reasons/sentiment behind it (aside from their rings)

The first piece of jewellery my husband ever bought for me was on our first Christmas together, he bought me the Diamond by the Yard necklace which is still one of my most sentimental pieces of jewellery, I will never ever part with it and it’s still my most worn necklace. As a wedding present he took me to the 5th Avenue store to purchase the matching bracelet. In addition to that my mum and my husbands mum told me they would like to buy me something for our wedding day and they chose these Tiffany diamond studs. They mean so much to me because I wasn’t expecting them to get me anything and I love that it was from our 2 mums. My mum has since passed away so they are even more meaningful now, I only really wear them on special occasions as I always worry about losing one.

I would love to know what other jewellery people wore on their wedding day and what made them choose it.

When I was engaged my mother bought me small diamond studs which I wore on my 2nd piercings when I was married.
They were from a local jewelry shop when we were in Taiwan. I was pretty surprised, my mother is a very conservative and frugal person. She rarely ever bought luxurious things. I think I only saw her buy a ring once for herself when I was a child.
So for me, it was a big thing for my mom to buy me something so nice.

After I got married, my parents gave me a lot of heirloom jewelry, especially a lot from my late grandmother. I was pretty surprised as well (never thought about things being handed down to me when I got married) but kind of would have liked to received them earlier so I could have worn one of my grandmother’s pieces at my wedding. But it’s okay. I’ve worn them plenty of times since then .

These are from Olive and Piper, paired with a matching bracelet and a simple gold pendant that once belonged to my fiancé’s grandmother.
