I have always thought that a bride wears her EG on her right hand on the day of the wedding - until DH places the wedding band on her left ........ sometime after that, the EG is placed back on the left over (above?) the new wedding band.
My friend says that, since you receive the ER first, it should be at the bottom (under?) the wedding band........
I looked for threads discussing this and was unable to find any - I apologize if this dilemma has already been addressed, but I would love to know what the jewellery-lovin' PF folks think......:confused1:

Yeah I don't think there's a right or wrong way to wear them!
That said, I wore my engagement ring on my right hand on my wedding day, then my wedding band was put onto my left hand & then I put my engagement ring on top of that. To cut a long story short, I wear wedding band on bottom, engagement on top! xMMx

I can't wear my ering on my right hand, it would never fit. During the wedding my ering was in the ring box in my purse, and after the first round of photos I put it back on.

As i understand the folklore, the wedding ring should be worn on the bottom with the Ering on top of it. The reason for this is so the wedding ring is closest to your heart :smile1:

My ering is on the inside, because I lost weight since I got engaged, but the wedding band fits perfectly. It's only 1/2 size too big now, and I can't bear to part with it to get it sized (which I know I should do)... so I just keep it secure with the band :smile1:

+1
I think over time those customs are set aside to suit your own life & style.
In my world, any ring from my spouse on my left ring finger is good. :D

I wear my wedding band with e-ring on top.

I'm not engaged yet. I'm promised to be engaged (long story! lol) but I wear a 3mm white gold wedding band as my promise ring. I feel like I'd wear my ERing on bottom and the real wedding band on top just to add security to the ERing. God forbid anything happen to either, I'd rather lose my wedding band than the HUGE rock I'm gonna have on my ERing :roflmfao:

I wore my wedding ring first with my e ring on top of it. With my upgrade, we opted for very wide bands so I wear my e ring on my left hand and my anniversary band on my right hand. I say wear your rings the way you like them!

There is not necessarily a right or wrong way to wear them, but there is a traditional way, and that is with the wedding band placed on the finger first and the ER placed on afterwards. Clearly, a lot of people do things differently, and there are even different traditions in different cultures. Wear your rings the way you wish, but people who choose not to wear a band on the left hand, for example, often face questions like, "When is the wedding?" Not that other people's perceptions are your problem, of course, just that people generally expect to see a band and then an ER on the left ring finger.

I often wear my wedding band, my ER and then an anniversary band, but recently I've been wearing my WB, AB and then my ER. It all reads mostly the same - band/s and then ER. But you would still be just as married even with no rings at all!
