Wearing Manolos the day after it rains...

Hi everyone, I hope I'm not asking a terribly stupid question here. Tomorrows supposed to be the first day of the week where it is not raining in my area and I really want to wear my new water snake Manolo boots, question is, the ground will probably be still wet, will it damage the sole (or smell)? It just seems so silly to spend so much money on shoes that aren't exactly weather proof (although I'd do it anyways)!

It will certainly stain the sole as the sole is leather. I always get my designer shoes resoled with Vibram or Soletech soles before I wear them out or at least after a few wears. I wouldn't chance it with the wet ground--have you looked into getting them resoled?

From my experience, damp pavement is ok for the suede soles. Standing water should be avoided.
