I recently purchased some fur coats for the first time (a mink and a fox), but haven't had the chance to wear them yet. I was thinking ahead, and I was wondering about wearing them while driving. I'm concerned about damaging them with the seat belt and also from having my weight on the back and bottom for too long. What do the rest of you do? I would just not wear it in the car and leave my coat on another seat, but a major reason I bought my furs is for warmth. What do you recommend?

I wear mine for driving around town, but on long trips I take my coat off. I would not want to damage my coat with the seat belt on long distances.
I always wear them in car. Too much of a pain to take off. But from reading the many threads on here it is best not to.
The reason why some are called 'car coats' is because they are made longer than a jacket and shorter than a full-length. It used to be very bad form to wear any coat in a car because you basically crush it and press it out of shape.
Rightly as you say, a seat belt will ruin most fur eventually. Your other concerns are also correct and will eventually damage the pelts. Just take it off, turn inwards and gently fold.

I would take it off before climbing in but if you do keep it on, make sure you have your heated seat turned off! The heating can be very damaging and this also goes for any camel hair coats
