Wear on metallic Ryders?

Hi!

I've been away for a little while, but I've been drawn back to Coach by the siren call of the metallic (bronze/antique black nickle) Ryder 33. I was particularly wondering how this leather wears. I know that some Coach metallics seem to weather almost anything, while others tend to wear easily and lose their sheen in just a few uses.

How has the experience been with metallic Ryder leather (particularly the bronze, but in general, too)?

TIA for any feedback! It's much appreciated. ;)

I've had the gunmetal Rhyder 33 since last August and used it quite a bit and it still looks completely brand-new --- no signs of wear whatsoever. I love it, it's such a nicely slouchy, classy looking bag.

This is great to know! Thank you so much for the information. I love the details on this bag, and I think the metallic leather pops so nicely against the dark hardware. I'm also glad to hear that you find it slouchy and classy looking- that's a very good combination, in my opinion.

Thanks so much for the feedback! :D

I'm actually disappointed is my bronze Rhyder ($495). I have carried it about 15 times since I bought it in October. There are some areas where the bronze color is chipping off to reveal gunmetal. My SA said this has happened to quite a few of the bronze and brass colored bags and slgs. She said no problems so far with gunmetal. I'm not really hard on my bags but don't quite baby them unless they are very special to me.

This is the reason I returned my bronze Kelsey. I loved the color but even before I cut the tag, the surface of the bag looked uneven in certain spots. Like the dye hadn't bonded with the leather correctly or something :(
