    I was just at a dog show in Illionois, sitting watching and a gal across from me seemed to look at my purse and smile at me, I looked at hers and smiled back, :cool:Yeah, you know where ever I am I look at bags, do you? That happened a bit back at a mall, and I wonder if we ever run into each other and don't know. We should like, touch the front of our purse then our heart, takes about 3 seconds, and then if the other gal does it back.... we can say hi, or smile, but no one else would notice. Am I weird? Is there a 30ish blonde gal with two little boys and a LV neverful that was watching dogs today?? I liked your bag:tup:

    A while back, a few tPFers suggested the catchphrase "Are you a friend of Vlad's?" but figured out people might think we were nuts. :biggrin: But your idea is better. I'll try it.

    Honestly, yes, I think a "secret signal" is a bit weird. It's just a purse and lots of people carry them. How about smiling or saying "hi" to someone just to be polite/nice and not because you have the same handbag...

    I agree with this - I don't get out much (!) but I can tell you I talk to strangers about bags when I go shopping and nobody has ever known about tPF, with the exception of my SA at N*rdstrom/Balenciaga. If I touched my bag and then my heart or whatever as I was intently looking at another person they'd think I was a brick shy of a load.:lol: Same with the Vlad comment - you know I think some here do not realize who our fearless leaders are ... (Vlad and Megs :heart:)

    ^I got the impression that OP was asking about a "signal" for those who share the same bags, not those who are members of TPF. She was referring to noticing and smiling at someone with the same bag - not someone from TPF.

    I thought she meant for knowing if someone is a member of TPF, haha XD

    I think that would be a funny idea, though I'd feel stupid doing a signal...haha

    A secret code would be funny, but I think there a lot of like-minded ladies that may not be on tpf, so it could be weird, haha!

    A while back there was a thought about a pf-bagcharm/keychain, too bad it never got into production, but I'm still convinced it could be that perfect 'sign' :biggrin:

    ^^^ Funny you say that. I think there used to be one! As for the signaling, I don't do that. I am so bag obssessed, that I just usually strike up a conversation with the person who is wearing a bag that I admire. Whenever I see a bag I like a lot, I almost always make a point of complimenting that person and they usually take it well! If there was actually a chance they were wearing the same bag, I would give a wink and a thumbs up!
