Ebay is delaying their enforcement of the no watermarks policy.
If you use watermarks, your listings may not show up in Google shopping results.
But if you don't use watermarks, it makes it easier for people to steal your photos.

IMO, watermarks don't stop determine picture thieves from stealing pictures. They crop watermarks, cover your watermark with theirs or they simply leave the watermark and use the picture(s) anyway.

But it is true that watermarks hinder google shopping. Refer to #6:

Interestingly, I recently reported an (experienced) ebay seller who stole my pictures and put her watermark on my images, presumably to prevent others from using "her" pictures. And when confronted, she claimed, "well you didn't watermark your pictures," implying that I didn't mind others stealing my images. The fact that my description stated that my pictures weren't to be used was ignored. Watermarked or not, her listing was removed.
