it is illegal. seems to make little difference.
i once had a listing (starting at 99 pence!!) removed from ebay because i mentioned the (vintage) bag was similar to a vintage bag sienna miller has. someone bothered to remove the whole listing! and yet ebat sells fakes for hundreds! well done ebay.
