I never even gave watches a thought, I have been wearing a simple tag for the last 5 years. Then my husband wanted to buy me cartier or rolex for Christmas. That started my journey. Well, now I have been bitten by the watch bug, and I blame this board!!! :)

I just purchased two, a cartier TF and a hermes cape cod tonneau double tour in natural. Now I am eyeing an airking or an explorer I for my next purchase.. what the heck happened???

Thanks, I think.

Watches are a wonderful investment esp. rolex! They are classic, worn all seasons and will always fit you! I'm very happy with this "bug". I watch my friends spend tons on clothing to be worn only one season or so and they have nothing to show for it. Also, watches do not have to go to the dry cleaners and they don't take up much space! I love each and every one and have no regrets with any of them! Think Air King! Which explorer are you looking at? LOL!

I'll post pics when i get them. I'll get the tank tomorrow, and the hermes, not sure yet she had to order it.

couturequeen, why so grumpy? Just stating my new found excitement for watches!! Are all threads suppose to have pics on this board? I am new to posting in the jewerly box.

Not grumpy at all. Pics are always appreciated in this thread, especially of lovely timepiece acquisitions so we can celebrate with you. :D Congrats on your new pieces!

Amen sister!

I like the explorer 1, it is very similar to the air king, apparently they are redesigning it this year so it is about to go up in price, I am eyeing a used one so I can get the 34mm, I think this years is 36mm (???) and the new one will be bigger according to the SA.

With the Air King, I love the simple sporty style, I like all of them.

My husband wears the explorer II, and when he gets a new watch I might steal his.

tdha - Do you know if the Air King was redesigned recently? Also -Do you know price of this year's Explorer 1? I would not go over 36mm as I already have a 38mm j12 and while I love it, I don't want any more bigger watches. I want to look at that Explorer 1. What color faces are you interested in?

Hokoplan, it is me tdha, I changed my member name since I have decided to stay awhile! and want my emails sent to my active account.

The explorer I only comes in a black face. It retails around 5K. The SA said that is the only watch she would not discount. Which of course makes me want it more.

I have no idea if the AK is being redesigned. I like the blue face for that one. You?

Check out swissluxury.com you can see the retail prices there and many of the different combos available.

here's my air king. sorry for the bad picture, but its from my blackberry :smile1: my husband has a gold daytona that i steal when i can! rolex is so classic!
