I realise most serious watch fans don't consider quartz editions, but from a fashion perspective, do you think Cartier quartz watches are desirable?
I could go for either quartz or automatic but have small wrists and it seems as if the automatics generally start at larger sizes.

I have panthere and tank louis both in quartz. I’d be nice if they were automatic but I don’t have that option in the small size and YG. All Cartier watches come with an 8 year warranty. I’d think that it would be easy to swap out a quartz movement if you had issues. I see Cartier timepieces as more of a piece of jewelry that just so happens to tell time. Maybe go with Rolex if you want it more as a technical timepiece in terms of the movement.

I don't have the patience for waiting lists
Looking at the SolarBeat Cartier models now, as it's appealing not to change the battery so often.

This only applies to contemporary watches, there are vintage models that are every size including tiny that are mechanical (wind-up not auto).

Personally, I consider quartz watches fashion, if I had the option of going for an automatic and it looked good too, that would be my choice. If the size didn't work, it doesn't have to be Cartier, or you could look for vintage.

The automatic movements for Cartier are basic anyways unless you get into the santos level … Cartier has rich history in the time piece world, if there is any brand that gets the pass for being a quartz movement it’s Cartier for being the pioneer. It’s fine you can replace the battery.

Mechanical and automatic watches require pricier service, and can break easily (happened to me and my father). Even chronographs when automatic aren’t as reliable as quartz in terms of time telling. I actually prefer automatic from engineering perspective, but quartz is absolutely fine for a design focused watch, and I believe there are old quartz Musts in the market to prove that.

Are batteries not replaceable on quartz watches? Will they just stop working after like 10 years? I’m considering the panthere watch, but will it not last that long?

Is adding/removing links complimentary throughout? The last I had one done was maybe 4-5years ago and the watch wasn’t brand new (maybe ~3years old). There wasn’t any fee.

If I need to do it again, will there be any fee?
