watch or bag?

Dear ladies, if you could only buy one item, would you buy a rolex watch or birkin bag?

Difficult choice indeed!
I love watches and bags, so I could be in the same situation.
If I had to celebrate a special event, I would go for the watch because it's a symbol, something you wear everyday, and that you will never get tired of.
A friend of mine bought one 30 years ago. She just wanted to treat herself after a break up.
She still wears it 30 years later....
As for the Birkin, it's something different.
Will you carry it regularly?

Have a look at Patek Philippe Calatrava. Costs about two Birkins, but it´s an investment for life.

yes, if you have the resources for a birkin, i'd go for a patek philippe. it's an investment you can hand down to your grandchildren. i lived in geneva, switzerland for a while and no one would be caught dead in a rolex there

Watch, though I would go for Patek over Rolex too. Or - Franck Muller. I love the Crazy Hours line/collection, though I know it's not for everyone.

I feel like watches are on the verge of being obsolete what with all the personal technology we carry around with us these days. I never wear watches, anymore so obviously I can't recommend one.

Then again, I'm not a fan of Birkins, either.

I'll throw you a curveball and say buy a non-watch piece of fine jewelry, instead.

I agree that watches are obsolete. A lot of people don't bother cuz they have their cell phone glued to their hands. But I try to keep it in my purse and not in my hand so I can interact with the rest if the world. It's a pain to take it in and out. If I forget to wear my watch I feel so naked haha
To each his own but I think a nice watch can serve as a bracelet kind of jewelry too!
