Watch maker: Girad Perregaux??

Does anyone have any infos on this watch maker??

I've been offered one to look at but dont know who this maker is at all. They say that it is one of the oldest watch makers and that they were the leader in making the wrist watch as well.....but is it a good watch? Is it worth it?

Any infos will be appreciated....
