Hello! I inherited this vintage Louis Vuitton suitcase and listed it on Ebay for charity. Ebay pulled the listing saying it was not authentic. I know the lady that donated this piece, and she says she bought it in the 70's from a store. Ebay will not let me realist until I get it authenticated. Can anybody help?

Thanks!!

Tressa

I know the lady that donated this piece, and she says she bought it in the 70's from a store. Can anybody help? From the research I have done online, I believe it to be authenticate. I suspect the "Ebay Expert" that pulled it was not familiar with the vintage pieces made in the U.S. OR..the person that kept making me offers, and I kept refusing, flagged it. -- Anybody that is familiar with these bags out there? Can you confirm it's authenticity based on the photos I provided? ….Frustrated in Arizona :nuts::nuts::nuts::nuts::nuts:

Thanks!!

Go onto google and type in carol diva or authenticate4u. They are third party authenticators they do it for a small fee and send proof via email so they you can print it off
I prefer authenticate4u

Ebay may be thrown off because it is a French Co. suitcase. Maybe they're not familiar with it? How can they say it is fake? Do they have proof?

No, they have no proof. The seller bears the burden of providing proof. It's very strange because there are other vintage LV suitcases very similar to this listed. They have the same tags also. I think they were in error, but now I have to have some other documentation before I can re-list there. It's absurd.

Best of luck
I forgot to add that the only reason I would recommend authenticate4u over carol diva is because my experience with A4u was much quicker. Both were great though x

During the 70s LV became very popular in the US. To keep up with demand they worked with a US luggage company called the French Company to make these special licensed bags through the 90s. Of course with the sudden surge of popularity with LV in the late 90s everything is now directly made by the Source.

Yours have the tag to prove it. It's an LV but not an LV, if you get my meaning. Here's a website that might help you.

They are quite hard to come by. A speedy 30 by the French Co is selling for $400 almost the same as the current editions that are used.

Yours is a luggage with a tag in tacked might go for a good deal especially to die hard LV collectors.
