Vintage LV

I was wondering if anyone here has inheritated any LV bags from relatives or anyone who had worn the brand in previous years. It must be an interesting piece to carry, if no longer made...

Anyway, what is the best way to determine if a vintage piece is real ?
Are there web sites that help, besides this one certainly!
