I have a vintage Speedy about 30 years old. The canvas is in great condition. The leather though looks old and the zipper pull fell off. If I get leather replaced can I request that they add leather all around to make it a bandolier handbag? That would be awesome if they could. Any info appreciated.

I cannot quite picture what you mean. However Rago Brothers can do local or distance work. This is were Saks etc send things and they do a pretty nice job. If it can be done they should be able to help you.
They will not turn a vintage speedy into a Bandouliere. It would be great but unfortunately its not possible.
No. Don’t bother trying at LV. They will 1000% tell you it’s not possible. Rago Brothers or other handbag spas might do it for you as stated above, but I can guarantee you that LV will not even entertain that request. They will, however, replace all of the vachetta and make your Speedy look brand new!
Gotcha you want to add the vertical stripe of leather to ends of the bag? I am not sure you could without damaging the vachetta seems. (You made me get up and look at my monmongram bags to see if they had the stripe.)
I know this is a super old thread, but did you ever end up doing this. It seems they can do this now at Rago. I’m considering doing this with my vintage 2005 speedy.
I have an old azur speedy 25 from 2007. I’ve always attached a strap to the metal right on handle. Many of us used to do this in the old days. But I’ve used Rago brothers many times for bags and shoe repair and they are great
