Hello all,

I got a vintage LV tote (I don’t know what its name is) and tried to air it out a couple of months ago as it smelled heavily of cigarettes and age. The age wasn’t an issue, but I’m sensitive to cigarette odor and the seller never disclosed that. At any rate, it and the little guy it came with got soaking wet during a rainstorm when I wasn’t home. I tried to dry them both with towels as best as I could, then I set them aside and didn’t get back to them until recently due to other things going on. The interior of the tote is stiff, the bottom is stiff, and I’m at a loss. I’ve bought Bick 1 and 4, but that didn’t help. I tried the rubbing alcohol/vasoline, and no go. I’m about to buy mink oil to see if that helps. There small little one faired much better, but the little pull tag got very stiff. I softened it with some warm water, but then there was a slimy coating to the pull tag. Any ideas of what I can do, if anything for either of them? I’ve included some pictures.

All the products you added ruined it. Don't add more. Let it dry thoroughly on its own, away from heat, and if it's usable, this is now what you have. If that doesn't suit you, sell it (as long as you know for sure that it's authentic; it didn't originally come with a little buddy), disclosing its condition.
