Hi Everyone,

I need help!

I was fortunate enough to be given a vintage Coach purse by my aunt. She dates the bag to about late 70's, early 80's. Anyways, of course I accepted but noticed that although the Coach label and statement of authenticity is there inside, there is no serial number. I don't want to ask my aunt if it is real since she was nice enough to hand it down to me so I was hoping that someone on the forum with some knowledge of Coach could tell me.

Here's some detail about the bag:

-Dark brown leather. It's made of genuine leather, I checked. Very high quality too. Overall, the bag is VERY well made unlike knock-offs
-Very tough durable stitching
-Bucket style with drawstring closure
-Adjustable, long strap.
-Interior label reads:

Coach
THIS IS A COACH BAG. IT IS HAND-
MADE OF GENUINE FULL-GRAIN
LEATHER, AND IS SPECIALLY TREATED TO MAINTAIN A NEW APPEARENCE OVERTIME
MADE IN THE UNITED STATES

I hope someone can offer me some insight!
Thanks!

It probably is real. Counterfeit handbags have exploded in the last 10-15 years, but it wasn't done frequently before that. You can post photos of your bag in the Authenticate Coach forum as Melly suggested, though they may not be as familiar with vintage bags.
