Yay or nay??

Full disclosure - I picked one up unexpectedly while vintage shopping, and I’m in LOVE. She’s in awesome condition for being made in 1979 (if I’m reading the date stamp correctly), and feels super timeless to me - Grace Kelly or Mary Kate Olsen vibes. It also happens to be my first Kelly which is a huge milestone

That said, I’m fairly petite (5’3”) and young (F26) and need some feedback on whether I picked a solid spec for my first K. Wdyt?

I have the same bag in 28, from 1980, and it's my favorite of my bags. I'm petite also (you have an inch on me) and personally a 32 sellier feels a touch big to me if I'm not wearing heels.
Not sure what age has to do with it, so can't address that q (both the celebrities you cite carried Kellys at your age, but again, not sure how it's relevant).
If you love it and love the size, this is one of the most classic Kellys ever (IMHO).
Here's mine.

Beautiful!! So classic as you said

I agree heels make a difference - I had a 2-3” heel on in the shops, but after coming home I felt a little swamped carrying my K w flat sandals. TBD whether this is an issue for me (may not be), and I’ll find out after a few more wears!

Ah, I mentioned my age only to say I’m relatively inexperienced w H. Although now that you mention it - I may have a little doubt because I see so many young women w tiny B25s and mini Ks in bright pastel colors. I feel the K32 Box Sellier isn’t what’s on trend, but maybe that’s what I love about it.

Would love to see a mod shot! And glamour shot of the bag ;-) I love vintage box Kellys.

Your bag is not Sellier, it's Retourné, unless the pictures are super deceiving. Retourné even in Box, which is a stiff leather, will look a bit smaller when worn.

Honestly it's really your call as to whether you want a tiny bag in a pastel color, and maybe a non-heritage leather. But if you are in love with this bag (that's how I felt about my Kelly, which now that I think about it was my first Kelly, maybe seven or eight years ago?) - don't let anyone dissuade you from following your own personal style. (You can also add a less classic/more trendy bag later on. I don't even want to admit how many Kellys I have added since this one!)

Holy moly, I just double checked and noticed the piping on the outside of the bag. You’re right, it’s Retourne!

Glad you mentioned as I recently ordered a bag insert and need to make a correction now. I do love the bag!! And yes, can add or swap in the future if my feelings change :P That does take the pressure off.

I think its a beautiful bag! Do I think its a little big on you?
Yes-but I love bags that are a little large for the wearer and I think it'll look fabulous worn with a coat or jacket with a wider canvas strap too.
My first (only) Kelly is a Rouge H box calf (M in circle 1983) in a 28 I'd never part with her despite her poor condition.
Yours by the way looks in incredible condition!

I don't think it's too big, i think it looks fantastic on you!
I am in awe of how flawless both of your bags are after so long!
Ok it's gorgeous on you. I'd keep for sure!

Thanks both!! So far my fav way to style is a sweater and jeans, a trench, and a CC slingback heel - excited to find new ways to wear hehe.
