Vintage alhambra necklace in gold or white gold ?

Hello,

For my birthday next month hubby is going to offers me a vintage alhambra necklace (first VCA piece) and Maybe a sweet alhambra bracelet (will see).

the problem is that I’m a withe gold person :

jewels I wear everyday :
- Piaget engagement ring and wedding ring : platinium and diamonds
- LOVE and JUC rings : white gold
- Medium Cartier panthère watch : silver
- CD earrings or chanel earrings: silver with diamonds

For me the vintage VCA necklace is a classic piece in gold with « nacre » (MOP in English right ?). And I prefer the gold one. But all my jewels are white gold, so I’m afraid it will not suit me very well (I’m very very white) and that’s doesn’t match with my others daily jewels.

what do you think ?

Yes I will try them because we go in Cannes « south of France » (French girl as you can see at my very cool English :lol:) at Christmas and there is a store there. But I’m wondering now and I don’t see a lot of girl with white gold to compare with gold.

I was like you before I "discovered" VCA. The majority of my jewelry were white gold as it was my preference for many years. After branching out and getting the Vintage Alhambra MOP in YG, I became in love with how the YG brightened up my skin.
After that, I've been buying mostly YG pieces. You never know until you try something new.

I think white gold with mother of pearl is gorgeous! If you normally wear white metals and don't like a "mixed metal" look, I'd plan to get the white gold.

I'm a white metals person, too. Very pale with cool undertones; the veins under my wrist are purple and blue. Yellow gold and my skin are not friends. Somehow yellow gold looks greenish on me and my skin looks grey/green next to yellow gold. So even if I like how a piece of jewelry looks in yellow gold, I won't buy it because I know it won't work for me.

I was a white gold only person until I started on VCA’s Alhambra line. My first Alhambra item was YG white MOP earrings, and I’ve gone on to acquire other YG Alhambra items to make a set. As most pieces in the Alhambra line are in yellow gold, I’ve made an exception only for VCA Alhambra line as YG is more classic for this line. Also, it lends a touch of luxe and looks less “costume jewelry-ish” with the MOP and semi precious stones instead of full gold or diamonds. Good luck with deciding.

Hi! I am a white metal person only (platinum or white gold). I have WG MOP Alhambra pieces and love them.
The MOP used in YG is more pinky while thye MOP used in WG is more silvery.

For me, I never mix metals as I feel the same as you, I do not think WG and YG mixed together look good.
VCA YG is also very yellow. So, for me, it's WG only.

I agree with you about gold. But I’m afraid it will not match my jewels set.

Yes for me it’s the same. The only problem here is that I find the YG more beautiful than WG.

but like you I’m a white gold person.

I totally agree with you. YG at VCA is stunning And look more precious thanWG.
