Very excited to post my first reveal! I love vintage Hermes items and had been hunting for a vintage 50-55cm HAC for several months now. There are a couple of stores here in NYC that occasionally have them, but they're often very beat up and very expensive. I finally came across a beautiful and very old example on Collector Square. This is the 50cm model in Vache Naturelle with lots of patina. The bag has been authenticated by Jérôme Lalande, who is also a buyer for the Hermes Museum in Paris. I think it is from before 1945 based on the style of the Hermes - Paris stamp and the fact that it does not have a letter/date code. Collector Square packed the bag carefully and included an Hermes dustbag, and the package arrived via UPS next day air just two days after I placed the order. I've already started conditioning this bag with the Docride method and it's looking fantastic. There were a few sections where I could tell the leather was starting to get dry, and they've already disappeared with just two coats of Blackrock Leather N Rich. I'll post before and after photos and notes on my method on the Docride reference thread when I'm finished.
