Skinny: Victoria Beckham
Slimming to a size six might allow Victoria Beckham to squeeze into the skinniest pair of jeans.
But as the former Spice Girl reveals in a new interview, it makes her 'look really awful naked'.
The wife of former England captain David tells a magazine today that having three children and then losing so much weight afterwards has left a rather unsightly legacy on her tummy. 'I've got so much saggy skin on my stomach,' she says.
While despite the efforts of airbrushing experts - working on a recent poster advertising the couple's new fragrance - to make us think otherwise, she actually has 'no bum at all'.
Mrs Beckham added: 'I might fit into jeans but, trust me, I look really awful naked.'
Her comments on her negative body image are published today in Australia's Harper's Bazaar magazine.
In the article, she also makes the rather fantastic claim that she wishes she was wasn't famous anymore.
'Do I wish I could be anonymous? Of course, I don't need to feed my ego that way any more,' she says.
All of which might come as confusing news to the many paparazzi photographers who turned up to the numerous carefully managed photo opportunities Mrs Beckham has staged at Paris Fashion Week over the past few days.
She managed to persuade Katie Holmes - Tom Cruise's fiancee and as such America's showbusiness queen - to get her some much-needed exposure in the US where she is about to launch herself as a TV fashion guru.
In Paris, 32-year-old Mrs Beckham even arranged for Miss Holmes, 27, to co-ordinate perfectly to better insure the pictures would be used in the American newspapers and magazines.
Sure enough as the pictures were wired around the world, magazines such as People - America's biggest selling weekly - snapped them up.
In the new magazine interview, Mrs Beckham also explained why she recently had a radical bob haircut, saying: 'I got sick of those bloody hair extensions.'
Meanwhile, despite rumours to the contrary, see is adamant that she has no plans to return to music or try acting - and instead prefers to be a designer.
'I'm done with music and I'm never going to act. I was an okay singer and an okay dancer and I had to work at it. I never want to act. Fashion is what I love. I've dreamed of doing my own clothing line even before I was a Spice Girl. Now I can do what I love and I've found that I'm really good at it.'
Two-and-a-half years ago, the Beckhams' marriage was rocked when David's former personal assistant Rebecca Loos claimed she had an affair with him.
At one point, it seemed the couple would split. But Victoria moved to Madrid to join David who was there playing for Real and the relationship survived.
Victoria has never spoken publicly of the 'affair'. But she says: 'We've had a fair amount of c*** thrown at us and it can be very upsetting. If it doesn't kill you it makes you stronger. I think we are a very strong family. We love each other to pieces. You work things out if you really love someone. 'It's easy to give up and a lot of people do. But I look back now and see it has made me a stronger person.'
