I've been waiting quietly and patiently these past 2 month since I've sent back my Wine Nikki (order placed on 24/4) for a 1 to 1 exchange and till date... I have received nothing but empty promises of delivery by RM.com

Not once not twice but thrice!! They have told me my delivery is slated for XX/XX but each time empty promises! My emails to them requesting for tracking info have gone unanswered each time.

Last straw came when Codi explicitly email me on 18/08 and my nikki is all ready to be shipped out on the next day (i.e. 19/08) and she promised to send me the tracking info asap and till date my emails have gone unanswered for the tracking details...

I'm sorry but this is possibly the first and last time i'm ordering from RM.com :crybaby::crybaby:And all these waiting have just killed my lemmings for the wine nikki and I have requested for a full refund in my last email to them if they have problem fulfilling my order afterall..

I just need to vent it out of my system :shame:

No apologies necessary!!! This is a VERY frustrating situation. I'm sure you sent the bag back because it wasn't up to your expectations, and they basically punish you for that! Ridiculous. They need to keep extra bags on hand for this very situation so that they can keep the customer VERY happy. But in the meantime? Just don't order from RM.com!!!!

I really hope you LOOOOVE your wine Nikki once you get it!

thanks for your comforting reply katelove477..i had returned the wine nikki due to contrasting leather panels on the front of the bag...

Whoa - what the heck happened to the right side?!?!!?!?!!? It looks ... blech! For lack of a better term! And they think you're not going to notice? :wtf: I really am annoyed for you and all of the other people this has happened to! It's not fair that you should feel you are taking a crapshoot when buying such an expensive bag!!!!

Those panel differences would be enough for me to return the bag. And it's a shame because the Nikki is a marvelous bag (when you get a good one). I feel almost guilty for pre-ordering 3 RM's. How can the love of a product and a distaste for their Producer co-exist? For me it does Guiltily.

I was the same way with Kooba. In their Heyday they put out marvelous bags and they had avid followers because of their luscious leathers and styles. Customer service was non-existant. At least RM makes feeble attempts. Kooba.com had no interest in their buyers and if you got a formulated reply you were lucky. Now in the past 2 years the quality has declines steadily and all of the former followers are just hanging on to a few of their Old (Good) bags to remember the good times.
In most part, we defected.

I guess what bothers me is seeing quality control issues in such a new and upcoming designer. I would think that starts when they reach their ultimate popularity level and then raise prices and lesson quality to make more money like it was with Kooba.
The prices of RM's are rather "up there" in my opinion. I would be honest in saying that none of these bags are worth more than 400-500.00 tops. We aren't LV. We aren't Chanel. They are a new company that has to realize that their potential is only as good as their product and Promise.

The leather panels are severely mis matched!! What a frustration the past few months must've been for you :hugs:
The whole point of paying a certain amount for a bag, is that you expect an equal level of quality, care and craftsmanship in the product. It's such a shame that the quality control at RM is inconsistent. For the ones they get right, they're just gorgeous, beautiful bags.
Birki - I hope you're able to get a full refund for the bag since it's been on-going for so long with no outcomes nor communication and hopefully you can move on from this. But don't give up hope - there are many other ways of getting an RM online that are reliable and these e-tailers are built up on their CS as they actually deal with sales and are not the business staff of a company . GL!!

Ebay looks better and better for RM bags. You can see the actual bag and see the leather variation and decide if the price is worth it. Used RM prices are pretty high on Ebay...I guess because so many people find this a viable option. I bought a Nikki and MAM on Luna Boston when you could still have codes and I bought 2 Mini's from Ebay. I am traumatized by payiing full price for my pre-orders...LOL

Very well put, Lexie! Excellent post!

The customer service and the quality of these bags as of late has left me drifting to other designers. I swore by RM but now, I just don't feel like dealing with the lottery, both in cs and product quality!

^ ITA, great post, Lexie! I used to be a Koobie woman myself but then I got a lovely cream Sienna and in a matter of days its started to fall apart -- so no more Kooba's for me. And I am also not buying from RM.com anymore, precisely because of their CS. It's sad -- I do support Rebecca and her fantastic designs, but the CS (with the exception of RM Maven, who is not even based in NYC) is sorely, sorely lacking. RM would be very wise to invest in a staff --even just a few more folks -- who were specialists in CS/e-tailing, ASAP.

I'm glad I stumbled upon this post because I've been contemplating on purchasing a wine nikki(my first RM bag) online but I live internationally and will be having it shipped to my aunt in MA and I'm hesitant because it might arrive in less than ideal condition and I would want to inspect it myself but I'm visiting in late october.

I'm probably going to have to hold out till then. and buy it in an actual store.(hoping stores would still have it)

Amen, Lo!!! My sentiments exactly.

Great post Lexie. ITA!

birki, I hope this situation works out for you. I personally will never order a bag directly from RM. I prefer to go through companies such as LB because they have much better CS. Hopefully you love the wine when you get it. I recently got mine off ebay from a fellow TPF and totally love it!!!

where are you going to be in MA? I live there, and like many of us here i would highly recommend that you check out Luna Boston (in, of course, Boston). They have some of the very best RM stock and customer service out there! And they also have had wine Nikkis periodically (with old Hardware), but if would like one with new hardware they will be getting some of those in late october, i believe. you can preorder it, pick it up in the store and even return a pre-order there if you don't like it. (but you will have to pay about $30 more in MA taxes). Email them -- they are all so kind! ;)
