very frustrating problem? help with profile pic? thanks

I can upload the pictures I'm choosing to an album here, but every single picture I try to use as my profile it says " cannot upload file" or " invalid file" and I'm picking small pics, what in the world am I doing wrong?

wow, serves me right for being on the computer till my eyes pop, I was looking at the avatar wondering why it didn't change after I changed the profile pic, im so sorry i wasted time, it was my fault, but thanks, the profile pic is working at least!
