I would go for black! I love the contrast between the black leather and the gold hardware. But if your heart says gold, that's what you should get. :yes:
I love the La Medusa bags.

I'm stuck between the black and gold colors of this bag -- the gold is kind of a taupe color not actual gold. I'm leaning towards the gold but want to know what people think.

I would get the Versace black or the taupe. And then buy the Celine Ava in tan leather -- so supple to the touch! And Celine's tan color is richer overall.

Black - it's classic, classy, and luxurious looking while also being kind of edgy. Also more carefree as you won't have to worry as much about dirt, colour transfer etc. Let us know what you decide and don't forget to share pics!

Thank you so much for all your responses! I really love the black and agree that black and gold is so versace. I just wear black sweaters so much and don't want to be monochromatic! So I decided to go against your advice and order the taupe >< But i'll try it o with a few outfits and if I'm not 100% in love I'll definitely exchange for the black. I'll post pics!

So funny story here, I went to pick up my GOLD bag from Neiman Marcus. At the time I am writing this and at the time I bought the bag, on the NM website the gold color is taupe leather w/metallic gold hardware and medusa plaque. But the bag I picked up had a plaque the same color as the leather. My SA couldn't figure out why it was metallic on the website and said that the bag didn't actually come in the colors in the pics. So I returned it, went to the Versace store and bought the black and gold, which I LOVE (you guys were right). But Versace also confirmed that the bag in the NM pics doesn't exist. So bizarre ...

Both colors are gorgeous. Please do a reveal. I too, love the Medusa bags, I want a pink one but hoped they would have kept the emblem gold.... I wish tpf had a Versace Forum.

^ Me too I think the new La Medusa bags are really great quality. I didn't mention it but the reason I wanted this bag is because I bought the pink one when it first came out and it's my FAVORITE bag, over Chanel, Valentino, you name it. It's just so easy to carry and is just the right size. So I really wanted a neutral one so I could carry one every day. I bet they do come out with the pink w/gold hardware before long!

Here are some pics, sorry for the quality I'm in a hotel. I also forgot to mention that once the color I wanted wasn't an option, I decided to just get the smaller black and gold since I already know I love my pink one in that size/shape. If anybody else has one I'd be curious to know if you use the chain strap or the leather strap -- I like the leather but it's cool you get both!
