Vernis Storage (Humid Climate)

I just purchased a nano speedy in the pink vernis leather. As this is my first patent bag, I want to make sure I keep nice for as long as possible. I live in okinawa, a very humid climate & I’m thinking about updating my bag storage. How do you store your patent leather? I know the biggest thing with patent leather is color transfer & air ventilation.

My current storage is a closet that has AC.

I have a few little packs of desiccant on my shelf near my patent bags as well for when my area gets very hot and humid .

Perhaps a dehumidifier would help on the most humid days?

The best prevention is wearing it as much as possible. I know that direct sunlight is not the best for Vernis, but every bag seems to appreciate being actively used. Most horror stories on the forum start with "I rarely used it, a few times in the past years, etc...". Well, there is a reason.

I just got an amarante Alma bb (waiting for it) I would love to also know what thoughts are on using it in the summer. I live in Canada and travel mostly to Europe so those are the climates I’m dealing with.

I own the Sunset Boulevard in Amarante, and it has held up well since 2007-08. When I carry it, it's on my shoulder and in close contact under my arm, and it's held up so well in my humid climate. You shouldn't have probs with the dark vernis.
