I've got the new Flat Messenger in Athracite and I really love it 
I wore it today clothes shopping and I found it very comfortable and practical - just like a messenger should be
I am quite short though (5ft 4") and I had the strap adjusted to the longest length which was just fine on me but I can see why the strap may be too short if you are any taller
