It does look matte in photos but it’s super shiny. It’s such a bother they never have stock so you can just try something on. It would be nice in theory if displayed pieces were only for trying on. I actually tried on a SA’s bracelet before purchasing my hammered bracelet. There are some YouTube videos of some hammered pieces and that might help.
I’d say Polished on the raised edges and matt in the crevices. When it catches the light it’s an understated glitter, especially at night. My bracelet is very new (only been wearing it a few days)
The surface is what I call textured. It isn't actually hammered. As others have said, the background is more matte and the raised parts are shiny. That bracelet (in yg) was my first VCA piece, and I really love it!

Hello. I agree with @reflection212. It’s a mix of shiny & matte. Here’s my hammered collection. The 10 motifs is new. All of these are yellow gold.
Has anyone placed an order recently for a hammered gold 5 motif? If so, how long was the lead time for you?
I’ve been reading conflicting reports and curious what the latest is here. Hearing they aren’t adding people to the waitlist or taking pre-orders, but also sounds like some people have been able to get on the waitlist.

I think it depends on your store and relationship with the SA to be honest.
I enquired about hammered gold Magic earrings (not the 5-motif) and was declined in the London flagship store which is my local store (and I have a decent relationship with the SA).
However, when I was in the Place Vendome store in Paris, they said they would allow me to place a deposit but couldn't guarantee the timeframe. I ended up not going for it, largely because I've not tried on the hammered Magic earrings before so didn't want to buy something that I'm not sure I'll love.
I’m wondering, did the 10 motif eventually become the same color as the earrings with wear? I feel like vca yg oxidizes quite a bit and am mulling over rg or yg for the 10 motif.
