VCA: 20 motif necklace question

So I've had the VCA MOP YG 20 motif over a year now, and I really love it.
Right before the July price increase I ordered 2 10 motif necklaces in WG MOP, so I can wear as 10 motif alone, or attache both together to get the 20 motif look.

Now I received my order today, and the necklaces are gorgeous.....I think both has a different look just by having a different metal colors...which my husband agrees. But I just wondered for those who might have been through the same dilemma, what is your thoughts? Is it silly to own 2 MOP necklaces but different metals? For those who have both, do you wear them equally or one tend to sit in your jewelry box???

Any thoughts will be welcome and appreciated!:smile1:

I personally would not because I can not afford it. I would get another stone.
Look at it this way. Would you get the same bag wth different HW? Say a Black Birkin with pall and gold hw? Yes, they are different, have a very different feel and look. If you want the variety in metal. I say it is fine.I rather have it in stone or maybe another VCA peice.
I love the MOP with YG, I do like it with WG as it does look very fresh and clean. But I rather have something totally different all together.

i would and do not agree with Sjunky13 even though I appreciate her opinion. I think white and yellow gold black are so universal that i feel like two versions in the two gold colors with a neutral like white MOP are more functional than getting a second in a "color" that may be harder to integrate

I agree with Hermesaholic. I have the 20 motif in wg, mop, and wg turquoise. I'm actually debating getting it in yg, mop. I think the mop is such a versatile neutral, that you can justify owning it in both gold colors, to match the hdw on your bags, or match your other jewelry pieces.

I did think about getting a different stone, but I already have turq x wg which I love. I also wanted WG metal, so only other option was chalcedony.....but with blue grey-ish hue, it gives the similar purpose to the turq wg I have.....

I guess it just depends if you can afford it! (and if there is something else you're giving up to have it)... I would love to have both as I do feel like it's a different "look" - but couldn't justify having 2 alhambras (right now anyway) when I want so many other things!! Most of my friends wouldn't notice I'd switched it up I'm sure. :)

And honestly if I had the $$ for more alhambra I'd do the 20 turquoise/WG - but you have that already!

It's totally up to you... if you can do it, go for it! But if you had your eye on a ring or diamond piece or something different, I'd be inclined to get that. :)

See, if the cost wasn't a factor I won't be spending much time at Purseforum agonizing over what to get next....I'll just tell them to send everything over and be done with it.;)

I'm leaning towards keeping them, I really like the look of 10 motif necklace alone and wear the other 10 motif wrap around my wrist. I might have to ask NM to lengthen the necklace though.

I think your idea about having chalcedony was actually a great idea rather than going with the same stone in different golds.
Sometimes it looks grey /white /blue ..
Different to Turquoise and white mother of pearl.
:D
