A family member who collected bags recently passed away. Its my responsibility to sell them(only local sales, so please don't interpret this as me fishing for buyers here) and get as much money possible for the estate. Could you guys give me a rough ball-park idea of what they're worth?

I went to a local flea market and was offered $100 for all of them, which seems ridiculous since even as a person with no interest in bags at all, I know Louis Vuitton bags are pricey. I'll add that the person who collected them didnt hold onto fakes and counterfeits, and these were in her personal collection so i'm 99.9% they're all legit.

She had another dozen or so hand bags, but i figure its smarter to do these 5 first and if i make any stupid mistakes like selling them all for $100, i only lose 1/3rd of the stock.

My personal opinions:

Danier pouch - you might get more bang for the buck donating and taking a tax credit. This bag new might be $100-$150.

Coach is a Bag from their Poppy line. There are a lot of these available secondhand if it was a factory outlet item it would be worth even less.

You can probably get triple digits for each of the rest, as LadyInLA notes, you would have to see what similar ones go for on EBay. LV is very popular, you could try sending them to a consignment store where you would get more than at the flea market. Search for consignment on the forum, you will find ones that you could mail them to. If you decide to sell yourself, the kind people in the brand specific forums will help you figure out the style names so you can research on EBay or similar.

Best wishes-

Just to clarify, I was offered $100 for all of them together(so $20 each), not $100 individually. I'll probably go back and haggle a bit but based off the response it seems like ending up with more than $200 in total was too optimistic.

Thanks.

Sorry for your loss. I think you need to sort the pile for the premium designers (LV, Burberry, etc.) from the contemporary designers (Coach, etc.). Not for $20 each; the LV should fetch a little more than that. Presentation and how well they were stored is key. If they look more used (visible stains) and are older styles, price will be reflected in it. Best of luck.

I understood-but if those Louis Vuittons and the Burberry are authentic and in good condition, you should get much more than $200. As others noted, sort by premium vs other designers and then check for authenticity. Don’t give away the store at the flea market if they are authentic.
