I have been looking online for my next Yurman piece (saks.com, NM.com etc) and I have noticed that the prices of Yurman is dropping BIG TIME! For example:

4/2008-I bought the 5mm pave end diamond bracelet for $1200. Now it is on Saks.com for $750.00.

7/2008- I bought the Onyx & Diamond 11 MM split shank Albion ring from Saks in San Fran in July 2008 for $875.00. It is now on Saks.com for $750.00.

I thought that Yurman was supposed to appreciate, not depreciate!!! I searched TPF for threads like this but couldn't find any. I only have 8 pieces and I have noticed this. Anyone else w/ a large collection noticed this drop in value?????? I am freaking out a little here...

The value of metals rise and dip as the market fluctuates. What you bought a couple years ago may not be the standard market price right now. Some of DY's pieces have gone up substantially. My mom has been a dedicated DY wearer for over 10 years now, and she said some of the pieces she owns are more expensive now. The SA at Nordstrom also said that some pieces have increased in price because silver has become more expensive. I'm sure that the prices reflect the demand of that particular metal at the current market. HTH.

I have made several postings about this. I have 3 rings that the price went down on. I thought it was very strange. Gold is super high now, lets hope they dont raise gold prices. Silver is down.

Your bracelet is accually 1400 now, there ar 2 different pave ends. Do you have the one with white gold tips? If so its now 1400.The all silver is 725 . My bracelet is up to 1550 from 1450. I think just the rings took a price drop.

Mine is the one w/ the white gold tips but I couldn't find that online. What website did you see that at? I only saw the silver w/ the gold accent tips. I got so irritated that I went and dug up all my receipts and insurance appraisals for the DY. The diamond pave tip bracelet I have has .48 carats of diamonds whereas the same looking 5 mm bracelet online states it has .30 carats. I wonder if he is cutting down on the size and quantity of diamonds he uses too....

I think maybe some of the current pieces...? I haven't noticed this myself though. All of my pieces purchased several years ago or more have actually increased in value, some quite dramatically.

davidyurman.com has it for 1400. 5 mm , white gold tips. I was gonna get it last month to wear with my diamond buckle. The saks one is 725 and looks simular , but slightly smaller? I guess he is cutting down on the diamonds too.hmmmm
